I spend 35 hours developing new alert system. New alert system include all kinds of alerts and very neat.
1. Support languages. You can easily translate all messages to different language.
2. Support type recognition. You can create different messages for every content type by simply creating file with the same name but start with 23- prefix, where 23 is ID of content type.
3. Messages are HTML format and looks very neat
4. There is action links in admin alerts, which allow delete, publish, unpublish or edit record, comment or rating
5. Before unpublish or delete vote or record admin or moderator can enter reason and that text will be
included to user alert that record or comment was deleted or unpublished.

Administrative Alerts
1. New/Edited record
2. New Comment
3. New Vote

User Alerts
1. Record stoped to be featured
2. Record become featured including date when record will stop to be featured
3. Record rated including who and rating amount alert to author of the record
4. Record vote deleted alert to user who voted article
5. Record added to favorites alert to author of the record
6. Inform that in * days record is going to expire
7. Alert to author that record have expired
8. Alert to author that record expiration date have been prolonged. Sent if prolongation was done not by author.
9. Record approved alert on every article publish event
10. Record unpublished
11. Record deleted
12. Record edited. Sent id edit was done not by author
13. Record created to author of the record
14. Comment added
15. Comment rated
16. Comment vote deleted. Alert to user who voted comment.
17. Comment deleted
Did I miss something?
Moderation system
Another 20 hours I spent to develop Moderation feature. Now super admin may set any registered user as moderator of particular section and set access rights without changing user group. Rules are very flexible. You can set one user as moderator to edit records and other to publish. You can control who does what.
