We are about to release Cobalt 8 with tons of new features. But let me summarise Cobalt 7 current state.

Cobalt 7 is CCK for Joomla 2.5 exclusively. It is a successor of Mighty Resources. And it is really successor. For those who does not know yet we where able to solve a lot of shortcomings of Mighty Resources in Cobalt.

Speed

Cobalt is much quicker that Resources. SO far no even single complain from hosting providers about server resources overload. That was one of the most serious problems with Mighty Resources. We have clients with 50 000+ articles plus many relational references and it is only 1-1.5 seconds to build the page.

Personalisation

In Resources it was know as Records mode:private. But now it is called personalisation because it become much more advanced. And in Cobalt 8 there is something outstanding is waiting for you.

Filters

As part of the optimisation, filtering process was totally rewritten and it ended up not only great speed but more advanced filtering system. Every field now have it's own filters and there is no need for additional or extra filters like in Resources.

Notifications

This is something absolutely new. This is a system that allow your customers stay alert of everything important to them, that happen on your site.

Moderation

Now Moderation has is a separate management interface. There are much more access rules and easier to manage.

SSI

Simple Sale Interface. This allows to sell anything on your site. This is Mighty Commerce miniature. It also have product types and multivendor allows your customers to sell from your site.

As for now Cobalt has JED popular mark.

We have moved quite forward with awesome Cobalt 7 and it is just about to become stable.

Finally, we released our first e-commerce field with PayPal gateway for Cobalt. This pay to download field, allow sell file downloads.

The good news is that all gateways are going to be free. Or at least it is our plans. And all e-commerce fields 15 USD each, without tax. So say you want to sell files (or let others sell files) online on your site, you get Cobalt free and with only $15 you turn it in to e-shop for digital downloads.

More fields come later. As soon as we add another free 2Checkout gateway, and finish with SSI API, we develop some other e-commerce fields to sell different stuff from tangible products to any type of digital content.

Although it worth to be Beta, we release preview 3 version of Cobalt. All your notices has been taken in account and all bugs reported are fixed.
