What is Analytics v3x? PDF Send Print

Just few moth ago we released Analytics v2x which had many new features and one of the main new features was reports accessible from frontend, for public users. Few days ago we released Analytics v3x. Why is it not 2.5 or something? What is it so important in it that we increased first version key?

The answer is "Analytics v3x is all new!". It is really a new component! Although reports transfer from backend to frontend in version 2 was done, the base of component not changed and it was very hard to make it really multi user. In v3 we refactored and now it is 100% multiuser analytics.

Also there are less report plugins now because 1 report may show more data. Previously every report plugin was associated with 1 chart type. Like pie, bars, lines, ... now user may switch charts within one report.

That required to rebuild every report. That is why for update you have to uninstall all old reports and install all over again. That was hard job to rebuild more than 150 plugins, but now it is based on the foundation that allow much more flexible and useful reporting.

Firstly, thanks for v3 release. I don't use but i believe it's very useful and it can do that other stat scripts can't do.

When will you release Site Statistic plugin? I saw it in MightyAnalytics description page and says "Coming Soon". Site Statistic scripts use lots of server resource. What do you think about this and how will you conquer this?

We where thinking on site statistic few days ago and we decided not to do that. Because we will not make statistic better than Google Analytics. And why people should use our site statistic when Google gives much wider tools.

@Serhio

Let me answer your question with some questions; why should people intergrate a 3rd party application (Analytics) and why should they share their data with Google and why should they go to another site (Google) to handle their analytics if they can do this from their own site?

@denisdulici,

Google traces almost everything on web already. :) It's the king. Do you use Chrome? Oh no, you've been traced by Google. Do you use Google search? Yes, you've been traced by Google. Do you use Gmail? Yes, you've been traced by Google. Is your site crawling by Google bots? Do you use Google Webmasters? Yes, you've been traced by Google. And more... This is a coldhearted reality. Google monitors everyone like x-ray.
