Okay so I'm sure everyone, including myself who loves ME, is super excited and cannot wait for this to be released.

My only immediate emotion however, is pure dread!  Having been a JoomSuite/ME Resources user since 2008, I have good reason to be dreadful. For those of you who aren't aware, the major ME components seem to become less bug-free after the 7th iteration/release cycle e.g. 1.5.7.

The implications of the above, is it will probably be another very long wait before we can use it with full effect on our production sites. This also means that unless the devs hit a home run with the initial re-write/release, most of you will be looking at upgrading to the Joomla 2.0 codebase by the time this release is fully stable. In other words, we're caught in a never ending cycle:)

So here are my three thoughts:

1. To address the "high server resources" consumption, why not MemCache all those repetitive and thus redundant queries? I'm guessing your categories don't change much over time and there is certainly no need to re-fetch them unless they've actually changed... 

2. Why not keep this re-write/migration from 1.5 to 1.7 code as simple as possible? Work only on the Resources code affected by 1.5 to 1.7 Joomla core upgrade.  It's better to avoid re-inventing the wheel where stuff already works. Besides, no one will ever be 100% happy. "Faster, New, and Improved" are simply illusions we as a society seek in vain.

3. Lastly, we appreciate your work on ME Touch but please make ME Resources play nice with other superb third party components such as JomSocial. The spirit of Joomla is all about community code working together for the betterment of everyone involved. We don't need a black box solution. We need integratation btw various components and plugins to keep this spirit of Joomla alive.

We've also proven that we're willing to pay for great ME features. We'd be willing to pay for such integration plugins so that your development cost and time is fully compensated for.

Otherwise, I'm confident the developers working on this will get things right and deliver another awesome release.

We cannot say exact or even aprox ETA unfortunatelly. But I want to ensure you that this is our first priority and that is all we do now to release it as soon as possible.

Hello Mighty,

Like everyone else who has made thee transition to 1.7, we would like to know what your roadmap says. I understnad your desire to not make a committment that you cannot keep but to let your userbase know if we are talking 3 months or 3 years is a reasonable request.

The way you are positioning timing for the next release does not reflect well on your commitment to keeping pace. I have loved working with Resources on my 1.5 sites but all new sites get rolled out with 1.7.

I do check back every now and again for recent news and repeatidly find the same ole' soime day but no prommises statement. You have to know, At some point Myself and many others will stop coming back in hopes of a different answer.

I am sure there are things going on that you cannot discuss so with that - I wish you well and hope you get it all figured out soon...

I am glad you have decided to go to Joomla 1.7 .. I have invested in your products but have decided to move on .. I still think you have the most powerful products out there but once again I remind you in this environment power without presentation will just lose customers mine and yours.

I am awaiting your transition and will continue to use this products if the aforementioned issued you have identified are sorted

Добрый день. Хотелось бы получить такой инструмент для интеграторов компонента Ресурс... Он просто необходим. 

При установке и дальнейшей настройке (плюс допиливании отдельных модулей. но это не суть важно) возникают ситуации когда ресурс начинает глючить... Так вот было бы неплохо  продумать компонент отката до версии интеграции.... Ну грубо говоря... Ставим флаг , вносим изменения (настраиваем ресурс)  и если результат нас не устраивает - то мы откатываемся назад до установленного флага... а то потом очень тяжело рыться в базе данных что бы убрать все ворнинги .... а еще бывает что и компонент не выводит во фронт-енд свое содержание..... 

Если был бы такой инструмент - компонент для интеграторов, то это было бы весьма замечательно.... 

Еще я бы хотел Вас покритиковать. Вот не надо Вам строить всякие аналитические решения для Ваших конкурентов... ну типа соби-аналитикс-репортс ... Занимайтесь только построением своей "Империи - добра", иначе это пустая трата времени... Я понимаю что это коммерция и реклама... Но уж если и тварить добро и рекламироваться - то уж лучше бы Вы рассмотрели решения для малого и среднего бизнеса.... и рекламировались бы там - на площадках CRM и ERP, ну и BPM - так как они на одних площадках висят (целевых и рекламных)....

Например интеграция с vTiger и Shugar CRM - для Ресурса и Комерса , было бы замечательно... 

Плюс к Ресурсу с CRM было бы неплохо прицепить систему инвойсов и прайс-листов (с подбивкой суммы к оплате)

Way back in October 2011, I had predicted we would be at Joomla 2.x.x before a Mighty Resource stable version for Joomla 1.7 would be available.

Well, Joomla 2.5 is here and we're yet to even have a Mighty Resource release for Joomla 1.7!

I know software development is hard work, and appreciate all the past great work by ME on the Joomla 1.5 branch. However, the truth of the matter is we need to keep our sites up to date and running smoothly.

Despite their hard work, the ME team haven't quite hit the mark with their promises for the Joomla 1.7 version. I'm sure most of you are already making plans to migrate your user data to the newest 2.5 offspring of the Joomla family.

Doesn't it then make so much sense to just gun for a Mighty Resources release for the Joomla 2.5?

My assertion above is mainly because Joomla 2.5 is a Long Term Supported version in the Joomla Branch (as was Joomla 1.5).

Besides, most of the other serious Joomla Components like JomSocial, HikaShop, Akeeba Subscriptions etc that one would love to use with Mighty Resources, are already fully compatible with Joomla 2.5:)

Пока что нет. Мы планируем его сделать на Кобальт 8. Это потому что мы фактически переписали компонент и рас уж мы все заново писали мы решили исправить все недоучтенки и изменить архетиктуру.

А когда примерно планируется выход кобальта 8, а то поддержка 1,5 заканчивается в этом году, а перейти на 2,5 нет возможности в связи с использованием ресурса, а сайт слишком большой, чтобы в ручную переносить.
