JoomSuite People Touch RC2 PDF Send Print
Monday, 19 January 2009

The new version of the JoomSuite People Touch is released. We have fixed l bugs that came in from the last release. Now users are able to define which blocks to show or not to show and define access to their block that show info from other component. Or for example show Guestbook only for friends or registered users. And of course Administrator of the web site can allow or disallow to users to change the blocks settings.
Note: The block is a section that shows information from the other component (i.e. JoomSuite User) in the users’ profile pages. The nice example would be Guestbook Plug-in for the People Touch component.
Here is a screenshots how it looks on the front-end and back-end:

And back end:
Note: every plug-in for the People Touch component has this parameter. They can be access from the plug-in manager.

There is also ability to edit the title and description of the block.

And every plug-in can add their own custom parameters if needed.
And of course ability to hide some blocks from the back-end. For example, when you have a plug-in that adds entries to the activity or adds a menu item to the users profile but or shows filters in the user list and does not have a block to show in the profile. So it is unnecessary to show it in the personal preferences. For such cases all is needed just to select that plug-ins from the back-end in the components configuration the section is named “blocks”.

And now every user can define access to their profile pages if it is allowed in the component’s configurations.
