Issues with Uploading Avatars PDF Send Print

A) Hello, I am having trouble with avatars.

If I enable for the registration process, then the avatar will be present (individual can upload avatar as part of registration). However, as administrator try to upload an image for a user, I get this error:

Also, I can disable the registration field for uploading avatar, and then I do not get the error above. HOWEVER, as administrator, the avatar will not upload....! ?? !

(I have the latest version of registration. v2.9.26.  Also, i do have the files in place mentioned above. )

 

B) Follow up Question

ALSO, once i have an image for a users, is there a way to have it display before the name in the "user manager' area?

Hello,

A) It is a bug. To fix it, please put the files attached into /administrator/components/com_juser/includes/  folder.

B) No, it is not possible. Avatars are not shown in 'user manager' area at all. If you need this, submit the feature to the Feature Request section.

Sure. The fixed release is already available. The version is the same - 2.9.26, just the files have been replaced.

That's stupid.  You should NEVER, EVER simply replace files and keep the same version.  Who knows how many people have the good version and how many people have the bad version?

Plus, I can say that the latest v2.9.26 (whatever the hell that means) does NOT fix the problem.

Maybe you could tone down the language a bit.  your point is not invalid, but it becomes so when you blindly call out. 

Also, for me, the 2.9.26 did update fine and avatar uploads, etc, in my earlier post do work - as I downloaded the files and used on my sister site.  So, i am not sure why you are hyperventilating.


Joomsuite (MightyExtension) has created an incredible product. And, apparently, you seem content enough to use it yourself.  So, maybe, you should simply ask for assistance and help with your site/use of extension.  As, the support is absolutely fantastic. 

Have more courtesy and respect for the developers, team, and company.
