I rust ran into this issue. I was able to find the content items with "missing" author and correct. But I think there needs to be a "real" fix for the issue. It would not be entirely unusual for a user who may have at one time created content, to be removed from the system. There shouldn't be errors thrown if that happens -- it should gracefully just ignore the author field or default it to anonymous.

You don't necessarily want to remove users content -- just not throw an error is the users name is not available. Let's say you have someone on staff developing a lot of content, and they then leave the organization and their user account is disabled/removed. All that content is still valid. But the site shouldn't error just because the author has been removed.

In this case you need not remove profile. Try to set another nickname and change password then you do not get any errors.

I understand that can be done. But you guys tend to think in very isolated ways. Anytime you have to teach a client or staff managing content to work in non-intuitive ways, that's a bad direction to be in -- "don't remove a user who has left the organization, just... rename them". Workarounds should only be a temporary solution.

There is no reason for this error to be thrown when viewing a list of content items. The error should only be thrown when someone is specifically looking for content from a user who is no longer present in the system.
