Hello, MightyTeam!
I have seen some common requests here, but I'll try one more time to write about a problem with filters.
All filters rules are stored in session and at a moment we can clear our filters only by press button "Clean all filters" or ?filter_reset=1 in url. It's great, but our site users are too lazy and don't want every time to click buttons :)
So I wish to show an example, from my another site, it's eshop. I understand that the site's core is not Joomla and Resources, but filter principles do not depends from CMS code. Here is some user steps:
1) Here is category "BMW" http://www.cuberra.eu/en/auto/bmw.htm
2) On left side we can make some filtration. Our active filters and delete button we can see on top. (the same as in resources). So make some filtration, for example category: X series, Product group: Exterior. We will see our filtered articles.
3) Now, we simply go to the first url in step 1 http://www.cuberra.eu/en/auto/bmw.htm and we can see, that all our filters from step 2, are cleared!!!, and we can see all articles from category!!! In Resources that is impossible, because all our filters params are stored in session and it's terrible I think, because users are lazy and don't want to make any extra click :) for looking all category articles .
So, the Resources filters needs next corrections:
1) Do not store all filter params in session. Make them autocleared, when user are click the same category again.
2) Hide empty filter data, when we accept some filter param. As you can see from example, in category are many filters data, when we click on X series, some empty filters (which are not connected with articles filter X series) are hidden, and we can see only active filters for articles under X series. If we add next filter param, we can see only active filter params for our filtered articles, and so on.
3) If you will make AJAX filtration, it will be incredible cool! :)
4) As you had accepted in my previous request, it will be great when all our field data will be stored under uniq ID, and we can create a short filter urls as it's in example, like http://www.cuberra.eu/en/auto/bmw.htm?cat=162&tip_detali=34 I understand, that it's not so easy to make this in near future, so we will wait for this in version 1.6
P.s. To all users of Resouces :) If you agree with this request, PLEASE vote (it's very easy to click on stars, near the title). Or it seems that this improvements need I and another 2-3 users of Resources :)
